Narabeen Lakeside Caravan park was to be our home for the following week. It was a spectacular setting for a caravan park. The Narabeen lake was directly in front of the park and you could swim, fish and kayak everyday. East of the park lay the ocean and there are saltwater pools built for the pubic to swim and play in. They were awesome. Zane went to do laps the first day but only managed 2 laps before he was distracted by all the fish life in the pools! We had some great weather and decided to stay at camp all day. Stella loved the water park and we could ride the bikes or jog around the lake. The caravan park had a great camp kitchen and amenities and a range of shops and restaurants all located close by.
Day 3 we ventured to Taronga Zoo for the day. Stella had a great day seeing all the different birds and animals. When she was in the lion exhibit the crowd were all hushed and waiting for the lion to emerge from the bushes. When it finally arose and walked past the silent crowd Stella said "Meow". Funny as. The seal show was impressive and so too was the bird show. We had a great time.

Wednesday we decided to check out Manly. We drove in and went to a little street market followed by a stroll along the beach and a peek in the Manly Surf Club. From there we went back to the main arcade where Janelle visited countless pharmacies while Stella chased pigeons and played in the park. We walked down to the wharf to work out where to go to catch the ferry to Sydney for the following day, and then decided to head home. Except we couldn't find our car. Frustrating! We decided to have a drink in a nautical bar The Hold and reassess the lost car situation. Eventually, after searching through 3 carparks, we found it. That night Janelle had arranged to meet her pharmacy buddy Bianca at Mexican, a restaurant near our park, which was fantastic. Zane bombed the party with a sleeping Stella in the pram to help the girls finish off their fish tacos and lamb quesadillas. Yum!
Unfortunately we encountered poor weather through the first 3 nights in Narabeen with 25 knot Southerly winds and rain pelting the camper trailer and tarp throughout the night. Not fun. However with a few midnight checks and adjustments we made it through each morning to be greeted with sunshine and a calm lake.
Thursday Stella enjoyed her first bus ride - from Narabeen to Manly and then we hopped a ferry to circular quay. We enjoyed the ferry, the Sydney Opera House, we had a walk through to Darling Harbour where Zane and Stella visited the Maritime Museum while Janelle checked out a pharmacy. From there we ventured to The Rocks to try and have a drink at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney - but they just aren't that kid friendly!

Friday we were meant to pack up and head off but the weather was too good so we decided to stay another 2 nights. We spent the last 2 days swimming, biking, hiking and paddling around the Narrabeen lake and checked out Palm Beach where they film Home & Away. There was a really cool little bar called Cranky Fins where they had surf and ocean themed decor. Sunday morning we packed it all up, said good bye to our friends in the caravan park and headed off for Kiama and Jervis Bay.
