Well its been a long time since blogging but we feel this amazing trip deserves an ending.
We left Port Fairy and had to get to Albury so Janelle could start work on the 20 April. She had scored a 2 week gig which came with accommodation in an apartment in the main street. We travelled along the Hamilton Highway to Ballarat and stopped for lunch. We strolled the streets of Ballarat looking at the old architecture buildings and Zane found a cool comic book store. The owner had an X-Men electric guitar signed by Stan Lee - ultimate nerd cred for life!
We travelled onto Bendigo where it was pouring rain and we decided to stay the night in an apartment. The next day we continued on through Shepparton and stopped for lunch in Glenrowan where Ned Kelly was captured. We had a quick look at some of the memorabilia and had an average lunch from the bakery.
We arrived Albury - Wodonga and were once again thrilled to cross over the NSW/VIC border! We had a small apartment in the main street of Albury. As Zane was reversing the trailer off the road for the first night, a bloke stopped to ask some questions and basically told us not to leave the camper and kayak on the street as it would not be there the next day! He offered us his storage shed up the road. We were skeptical at first but it turned out all good!
For the next 2 weeks Janelle worked at a busy pharmacy counting Websters...Fun! Stella and Zane hung out in the library, local parks, visited Lavington and Wodonga and rode the bike around the Murray river. We had a wonderful ANZAC day parade in Albury for the 100th year memorial and a well attended dawn service at Monument Hill.
We caught up with Bianca, who went to primary school with Janelle, and her husband James and had a lovely BBQ. Bianca also took us for a walk around Lake Hume.
